Veneers
Veneers create a wonderful cosmetic addition to your smile. They are made out of very thin shells of porcelain or plastic and they are bonded to your teeth. Veneers can improve the color, strength and the shape of your teeth. Having veneers placed does not automatically upgrade the quality of your dental health, they usually only cover the front and the top of your teeth. People often use them to close the spaces between their teeth, to lengthen teeth, to fix misshapen teeth or permanently change the color of stained or darker teeth into white teeth.
Veneers will be able to help your teeth and the strength of your teeth, especially when your teeth are chipped or beginning to wear. Veneers can protect them from advancing damage and trauma, and restore them to original appearance. Just about every cosmetic problem can be solved with the application of veneers, including:
Worn Enamel
Tooth enamel is a thin, hard and white substance that covers your teeth. Over time the enamel can be worn down, discolored, and even dulled. There are many causes to the regular wear and tear of the tooth enamel, but veneers can help restore your teeth to full cosmetic and aesthetic beauty.
Wear and Tear
Part of aging means that your body has been used more and more, this includes your teeth. Many years of using your mouth and teeth can add up to multiple chips, cracks and even discoloration. Veneers treatment may just be the thing to help your smile look younger, stronger and much more attractive.
Genetics
Regardless of the habits you perform, some people are genetically predisposed to having yellow teeth. Others are born with wide spaces between their teeth that only seem to grow as you age. Veneers will change the color of your teeth, and is a great and easy way to help you close any gaps between your teeth.
Uneven Teeth
Uneven teeth can occur for many reasons. Whether it be accident related, grinding related, or by any other reason, uneven teeth can be unsightly and something that people notice. The advantage that veneers bring is creating a healthy way to make your teeth even and appear healthier and very natural.
Procedure
To receive a veneer, your teeth must be prepared to have it placed in. To do this, we will remove all of the discoloration and unflattering portions of your teeth. Throughout this part of the procedure, we will also be carefully shaping the tooth in preparation for your new veneer.
After the tooth is shaped according to standard, we will take an impression of your teeth. All impressions will be sent to our exclusive dental laboratory where they will be personally handled by a trained technician. During the process of the authentic creation of your veneers, you will be fitted and given a temporary restoration to help you take care of all of your day to day needs.
On your next visit with Dr. John F. Conaghan and associates, you will receive the final restoration of your tooth. We will make sure that the veneers will fit comfortably into your mouth and ensure that your new veneers will feel and function exactly like your natural teeth. Once they are ready, they will be bonded to your teeth, and you will leave our dental office with a beautiful and fully restored smile.
